Running away

So here's the scenario, I was walking up the stairs from the sublevel to the main floor of the bus depot, listening to my music. At the top of the stairs a few feet away is a kiosk for Verizon Wireless. The dark Indian man behind the counter, jumps the glass counter and chases after a women wearing a long black jacket out the 41st exit. I didn't stay long enough to find out if he was chasing her to return something she forgot, or if she stole something from the kiosk. What do you think? Keep in mind that most people would use the 8th Ave exit and rarely the 41st (since you would have to walk to 8th Ave anyway). She didn't seem to be running quickly, but you can only run so fast with inch heeled boots on.
